Local Government Strike Action

Following the membership ballot which has agreed to take Industrial Action, there will be a full day of all out Strike Action called for Dumfries and Galloway Council Staff members on Tuesday 21st October 2014.  This day of Action will be followed by a range of further action across Scotland and we are currently considering the best course of action locally.

On the 21st members will be able to take part in pickets at their workplaces – you must let us know if you will be picketing so that we can provide you with information and materials.  We suggest pickets should take place between 8am and 9.15am, after that time a rally will be held in front of the Council HQ, Dumfries at 10am followed by tea/coffee/bacon rolls at The Aberdour Hotel for all strikers.

Our pay has been reduced year on year because of these low pay awards, now is the time to take action!

The only way to have your say on the measly pay award we received this year is to join UNISON and take part in our Industrial Action.
