Private car business use insurance

This is a reminder to members that if they use their own vehicle for work they must ensure their motor vehicle insurance policy has business use included.

Most companies will now add this on request at no extra charge, but even a small fee is better than being uninsured.

So don’t be caught out;

• we are aware of many instances where Council pool cars are unavailable and staff use their own car to help out.
• or you may not normally use a car for work, but your manager says come and meet me at another workplace; eg a staff meeting, PDR, etc.

Both of these examples need business insurance.  If in doubt make sure you are covered if not – use a pool car or re-arrange the meeting.
