At UNISON’s branch meeting on the 10th of December serious concerns were raised about the treatment of Clerical Staff in Schools regarding the re-structure of their services.  The Branch decided to consider taking forward a ballot for industrial action to support these members.

At the Joint Trade Union Education Issues Group meeting on Wednesday, 14 December 2016 this matter was discussed with senior management and the Director, Colin Grant. It was agreed that the proposals which were discussed at the Clerical Assistants meeting on Tuesday, 6 December are no longer on the table. Management are going to contact all Clerical Assistants in Dumfries and Galloway prior to the Christmas Holidays to let them know of this decision.

We will await further information and keep UNISON members informed
