Dear Colleague,
Scotland Demands a Pay Rise: Scottish Parliament Pay Demonstration 8th September 2022.
With workers across Scotland taking industrial action and consulting on below inflation pay offers, we believe it is time to make clear that whilst the Westminster Government bears much responsibility for the failure to implement pay rises to combat the Cost-of-Living Crisis, there is much that can be done in Scotland to support the delivery of fair pay.
We are in the process of finalising arrangements for a pay demonstration on Thursday 8th September to coincide with First Minister Questions at the Parliament. A rally will be held outside the Scottish Parliament. We are currently seeking permissions for a march down the Royal Mile to precede this. Permissions, timings and route details should be agreed with Edinburgh Council on 8th August.
Our application is for a march from Johnston Terrace at 10.30am and a rally at the Parliament 11.15-12noon.
I will forward finalised details and campaign materials following the 8th August.
Best Regards,
Roz Foyer
