Free Back to School Uniform Events & Uniform Donation and Collection Points

Have you any pre-loved school uniforms that you no longer need or would extra uniforms for you and your family help you to get ready for the next fast approaching School Term?

Dumfries and Galloway Council can help.

We are holding Free Back to School Uniform Events. These events have been specially designed to help out families who are looking for additional new and pre-loved uniforms to help their families and loved one’s to get ready for their return to school later this month. As well as offering a wide range of school clothes including branded sweatshirts, polo shirts, trousers, skirts, shorts and sports wear, local hairdressers will also be attending each of our events to give free hair cuts for any children and young people attending. We will also have a range of stationery supplies to choose from too.

Our next Free Back to School Uniform Events will be held on the following dates and times:  

• 11:00am – 3:00pm, Friday 12^th August 2022 – The Ryan Centre, Fairhurst Road, Stranraer
• 9:00am – 12:00 Noon, Saturday 13^th August 2022 – Newstart Recycle, Provost Mills, North Queensberry St, Annan
• 11:00am – 3:00pm, Sunday 14^th August 2022 – Castle Douglas Community Centre, Cotton Street, Castle Douglas

In additional to our free events, we currently have 6 permanent School Uniform Banks in all of the following locations which are open all year round for the Donation and Collection of School Uniforms:

• Reuse Recycle, Enterprise House, Fountain Way, Stranraer
• Newton Stewart Initiative Community Shop, Dashwood Square, Newton Stewart
• Dalbeattie Community Inititiave, 71 High Street, Dalbeattie
• Action for Children, Kirkfield, Greystone Avenue, Kelloholm
• Poverty & Inequalities Team Free Uniform Store, Loreburn Hall, Newall Terrace, Dumfries
• Newstart Recycle, Provost Mill, North Queensberry Street, Annan
